Default Super phosphate

I have been growing vedge for some years now, basically keeping to BFB,horse/cow manure and a few others...now this may sound ignorant of me..but super phosphate..which is not exactly cheap..is it Good to use..benificial to the plants ?....It certainly seems popular...Thanks in anticipation for your answers..love this internet stuff...hides me embarressment.....

Increases crop yield, but will make soil a bit acidic - i,m only a Learner myself,
