Default Salad leaves

Some of the leaves on the salad I have in growbags in the greenhouse are going yellow. Any advice please? Am I over/underwatering, is it too hot?

Thanks

They were mixed salad leaves.Attachment 449

Hi VegN, the marks on the leaves look more like a whitish / greyish colour rather than yellow and to me it does look like scorch. If it is scorch the greyish areas on the leaves tend to feel crispy and papery. Watering the salad leaves from above can cause this as the beads of water on the leaves act like a magnifying glass when the sun hits them so it's important to water the compost around the plants and is it possible for you to place the growbag outdoors rather than in the greenhouse?

some of my salad leaves had a bit of this on them also. I just had to be careful and water them just once in the evening... as late as I could, even past 9pm sometimes to ensure the sun had gone down.

I had an explosion of salad leaves that kept going and going for weeks - they are all gone now but I found it so nice to pick them each day!

Thanks I'll try and get someone to help me move it outside and will be more careful with the watering.

Cos, or romaine lettuces as they are also known, have a long, oval head of tightly packed crisp leaves. They are rich in potassium and also contain carotenoids. They are the perfect and traditional base for Caesar salads.

Cos is so called as it is thought it originated on the Greek Island of the same name (Kos).
Iceberg

A pale, round, tightly packed lettuce which has crisp leaves with a refreshing flavour.
British Iceberg lettuce is available from May through to October and reaches the stores less than 24 hours after picking. It stays fresh longer than any other type of lettuce, if kept at a constant cool temperature
Round Lettuce

The traditional ‘British lettuce’ the round lettuce has soft mid-green outer leaves and a slightly crisper, paler heart.

Hi, the leaves salads are too sensible you have to be very carefully when you are watering them and don't make them under the sun because they can be yellow. I suggest on you
to water your leave salad just at evening, i'm sure they will get refreshed!
