Default Water turns red cooking broad beans

I have grown broad beans in my garden and when I cook the broad beans the water turns red. I have never seen the water go red cooking broad beans before? Is this normal? Only reason I can think of is that they are planted next to some beatroots? Any ideas?

Default

It's a long time since I boiled them as I steam them but I think even then the water is a slight rusty looking colour.
