Default Tomato Disaster!

Ooooopsie! I was watering my tommies this morning, as they seem to want watering twice a day. I left the hose just hanging into the container by mistake. Although the tap was off, it must have been dripping and so when I came home from work the container was just about to overflow, full of water!

I poured it off but obviously all the soil was soaked through and the containers are too big to perhaps turn up and squeeze the soil. My husband has drilled holes around the bottom of the containers to help drain it but does anyone else know what I can do? I will be devastated if after growing them from seed I've killed them off at this late stage!

I wouldnt worry Hollie, i've got a watering system that I use in my greenhouse, I connect the hose and theres 4 sprinklers

Last week I turned the hose on and fell asleep 2 hours later the whole greenhouse was under 3 inches of water

No damage to the tommys

Smile Don't Worry!

No, don't worry Hollie. Your tomato plants will be just fine.

The time to worry about too much water is when plants are continually over watered.

Oh what good news! Thanks all. Matt, that made me chuckle, hehe!

It seems alot of the water drained away over night - I havnt watered them this evening and I don't think I will need to until maybe Monday but I think they'll be ok! Thanks again! x
