Recommendation for onion sets to plant now

Can anyone advise the best variety of onion to plant now in a container?
I live right on the south coast .

Hi Smeagal, my favourite varieties of onion sets to plant in September, for overwintering and harvesting in early July next year are Radar, a white onion and Electric, a red onion.

Would agree with LJ, radar are great onions, and Electric are also good, tho we've found a bit prone to going to seed, especially if they get stressed from weeds or lack of water!
