Looks as if it may be broccoli raab. Pick the florets before the flower buds open.

you pick them before they flower because thats how u eat it??!!

when u buy it from the shop its the closed flowers your buying, when they open they produce yellow flowers by then you will be dissapointed you didnt pick them

the trick is to chech everyday and as soon as the floret shows a hint of yellow harvest it

you can use the flowering heads in soup. if i have heads with a few open flowers i still boil them as normal and eat them without noticing

Just what I was wondering, but googling broccoli raab (or rabe) I found that it is a relative of the broccoli plant we are used to. It does look quite different, seems to be common in Italy
