Default help needed for potatoes

i need a bit of help with getting potatoes ready for planting where would be the best place to keep them for the chit to grow prier to planting out
i know it is early for planting them but i am getting all the info ready to hand on all veg i will be growing

I usually stand them in an old seed tray or egg boxes on the side in the kitchen, but was disorganised last time and just planted them without chitting. It doesn't seem to have made a lot of difference, but the weather has been much better, so maybe that helped...

I didnt chit, got a pretty good crop -certainly as good as i was expecting. So I've come around to the view that it makes no significant difference. however when I did chit it was usually in trays on the windowsills in the house
