Default From Italy with love.

Hi everyone, Matt made me think of how much I could help you guys with italian bred vegetables. I have learnt so much from reading British books and watching British gardening tv shows that now it feels right to give something back!

I am sure you guys have vegetables that are almost uknown in Italy and I'm sure it's the other way around too, so let's make this thread very helpful to us all! For example, I had never heard of kohl rabi until I watched some Gardeners' World episode and decided to order some seeds! How cool to see them grow in my kitchen garden!!!

Lucky you living in Italy - I always say I should come back as a rich Italian as I like the finer things in life and love all things Italian. Maybe one day I will be rich and retire there unless you fancy a house swap and you can live here in scenic Scotland, lol.

I just googled Peperone and they do look a little smaller

The type i'm growing is called 'Corno Rosso'

I just translated in babel fish and it says it means 'red horn'

Yes, exactly!! When you say Peperone what comes up in an italian's mind is the one you found with the Peperone search on Google, the shorter ones!
