Hello,
I'm new to the site and vegetable growin gin general. I've made a raised veg patch at the bottom of the garden and have started planning for the spring. I've already got some garlic and shallots in the patch and am groiwng some leeks from seed indoors. My aim was to get a jump on the crowing season for the leeks but i think i may have been a little keen in sowing them 3 weeks ago. All the seeds have germinated and i now have 40 little leek plants growing on the kitchen table. My question is, what can i do with them next? I have a feeling they're a little small to go straight into the veg patch, but can I transfer them to bigger pots, or into an unheated greenhouse? And if so, how big do i let them get before transferring them? They're just at the stage where they have unfolded and formed one long sprout; I'd say the longest is about 2.5 inches long. They are currently in small square modules, 2 to a module, in seed compost. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Doors |

could always make some little pots out of old toilet rolls/newspaper and keep them somewhere until they are a bit bigger.
I usually transfer my leeks into the ground when they are about as thick as a pencil. You could do it earlier. Some leeks are frost resistent and could go out now. generally as small plants they aren;t and will just die (from my experience). Plus it'll be a nightmare digging over your soil after al this f'in snow.
