So I had started some tomato's, cucumbers and chilli's off about two weeks ago and kept the seedlings in the house in propagators.
Then I had the bright idea to put the trays in the greenhouse this morning for a bit of extra light (obviously not awake at this point!!) kept the seedlings in the propagator with the lid on and what happens......................we end up having the first good sunny day in central Scotland, came home from work and all my seedlings have shriveled away!!! So back to the drawing board, will need to start all over again this weekend (hope it is not too late!!)...............can you tell I am an amateur!!!! ![]() ![]() |

We all make mistakes. Just don't give up - plenty of time to start them all again.

Hello
Same thing happened to me! I had 10 x cuccumber plants in me sun room on the window sill each seedling had a 2L bottle which had been cut in half placed over the 3" pot to act as a propogator! Got home from work early on a sunny afternoon to find the temp in the sun room at 35C, it was 20C outside! Time to start again! |

Don't worry. I know we have a little different growing seasons but from the research I've done on yours I think you've still got time to start again. We all have our little learning experiences (I won't call them mistake) and it just makes us better gardeners. Good luck with the growing.

The bug is addictive isnt it ;-) We all learn from making mistakes. Keep it up, its all worth it when you sit at the table and eat your own produce!
