I have started some chillis off in my heated propagators but am only getting around 50% germinating. Two different types, both seed packs new this year, keeping them damp but not too wet, they have taken around 21 days to germinate, which I though was a bit slow in the propagators. Anyone else had similar problems. I could do with upping the germination rate as they sell very well.

You may well have just had a bad batch of seed. Can i ask what sort of soil/compost you have them in and also what type of propogators?

B&Q potting compost and seeds were kept over from last years chillis. Propagator was also B&Q bog standard - kept in a semi shaded position as I find full sun fries everything in the propagtor. All suggestions most welcome. I have around 30 on the go at the minute selling at £3 each so could do with help in upping the germination rate
