Default Help with gherkins

Hi

Wondering if anyone has grown Gherkins? Mine are doing well BUT have had 3 the right size to pickle but how do I manage to get enough at one time to make pickling worth while? I do not want them to grow to big before pickling them and if they continue to come in 1s and 2s is it worth it? Many thanks

We grew gherkins many years ago. The problem is like you said that you don't get enough at one time. My dad would pickle the once we had and then add more to the pot as and when they came.

And they tasted fine.

Yes, sounds ok, just top up the pickle pot whenever you get one the right size. By the end of the season you should have a pot full! Unless you keep eating them that is
