Hello
Well being no expert, I would take this with a pinch of salt, although I suspect those with more knowledge will confirm my hypothesis. Firstly stop pulling them out! ![]() I think that it is too early to harvest onions if they were planted in mid March as it is only 10 weeks ago. I suspect you should be looking to harvest around July / August but only once the stems have folded down and started to turn yellow. I would continue to water them (only if they need it, and stick your finger in the ground to see if it is moist, if it is they don't need addtional water) What do your onions look like, have you got a picture to post? I've posted a picture of mine and mine will not be harvested until July / August ![]() However as I said at the start, someone else will come to your aide with good advice, and I advise you to pull no more until you have got it. |

If you planted your onions in March you just need to let them grow - the onion know what to do
You wouldn't pull them up until August. You do sounds as if you are over-watering which can make them rot. Just water when you need to. We planted our onions in November because it's very dry here (they are in raised beds) they are really bulking up and we have the best onions yet. But the first few months we don't water them - then as they start filling out we water them.Hope that helps
