Default My Poor Bush Beans

Hello, I could really use some help. I have started 4 raised beds with fruit and vegetables. My Bush Beans were coming up so nice and within the last 2 days they started to wilt and get white to tan spots on them. The beds are composted horse manure on the bottom and store bought top soil on the top. I water the beds every evening and have used pine straw for mulch to keep in the moisture. We are in Central Florida USA, if that matters. We also have very hard well water. These beans look like they are going down hill fast. I planted them on 5/30/11. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.IMG00012.jpg

Hi Lisa, welcome to our forum!! The white marks on the bean leaves looks like sun scorch to me. It's important when watering not to get water on the leaves as each water droplet acts like a magnifying glass when the sun hits them and then burns the leaves. Your plants look pretty strong to me.

I appreciate the info. Is there anything to do to prevent this from going any further? This was probably my fault then. I was trying to water my miniature horse a couple days ago and was spraying the hose up in the air because the hose and water was hot and I needed it cool to give him a drink. So when it was coming down , it was cool enough, but the sun was hot and probably heating up on the plants. It is overcast and raining nicely out right now and I am sure the garden is happy! So far everything else I planted is doing good. Potatoes, cucumbers, onions, garlic, carrots, scallions, lettuce, broccoli, watermelon and cantaloupe. Please let me know if there is anything to do to stop the wilting and spots. Thank you for your help

Agree with Lesley Jay. That sun burn/scorch. You have watered them in too strong a sunlight.
If it very sunny water them in the evening.
You may also be overwatering them if they are wilting.
Stick your finger in the soil and feel how damp/wet it is.
Your plants will be ok and will recover fine. Just remember the leaves need to be dry when the sun because strong as that's what makes them burn.
