Default Aubergine Q

I bought some Aubergine plants from Victorian Nursery. “Black Beauty” variety
I put them in a quality compost mix in growbag top, and they have been in greenhouse alongside my others plants, in their own growbag.
They have been there for just over a month .. and very little growth ... ?
The leaves are green .. but a light green (not sure if this is correct) ........ Cucumber, peppers, chillies & tomatoes are thriving and have put on huge growth in this time.
Even some paprika peppers started from seeds at same time are much further forward ........ it just seems that they have hardly grown since planting. One of them has some small holes in leaf .. but growth is still same as others.

Is this normal ? ....... never grown Aubergines before.
2 pics attached.

Hi there, Seems to be more than one problem here. The plants look as though they have mildew (whitish powder), also greenfly and whitefly. You can see the greenfly on the plant and the whitefly is on the plant and on top of the soil in the pot. Suggest you lower the humidity by cutting down on the watering a bit. Also, if you can still find some, plant some marigolds in the border or pots. These are great for keeping whitefly at bay. Its the smell that does it. I always plant them in the tomato and cucumber greenhouses. If you are not organic you can buy sprays for these problems.Hope this helps.

Thanks for comment ... first year of greenhouse.
I'll calm down on watering ... what is best treatment for the 3 symptoms now ?
I don't really want to use chemicals unless I have to .. but will do whatever is needed.

Also is it 'any' marigold ? .... or is there a special/better variety ?

Your plant looks overwatered. The soil is very wet, this could cause the mildew. See if you soil will dry out by not watering. But to me it looks so wet it looks like porridge. If it really is this wet you are better of to take the plant out and put new soil in and re-plant the aubergine. You see, the roots will otherwise rot and then the plant won't grow.

I think you can plant any marigolds. You can also us soapy water (just mix some washing up liquid in with some water) and spray that on the greenfly.

Hi Sargan, just use normal washing up liquid - not the anti bacterial stuff as that can kill the plants.
