I am reasonably new to gardening, I am currently growing Bell Peppers (orange) amongst other vegetables.
The first couple of peppers are now turning from green to orange but, the skin has little rough cracks on it, unlike the smooth skin you would usually associate with Peppers? They are being grown in a greenhouse in North West England. |

Hi Mark, and welcome
. Sometimes my peppers do that. They're planted outside though. I've usually blamed it on too much water and the peppers growing so fast all at once, kind of like toms do when they crack. The cracking I've had in my peppers have been mostly cosmetic and has never affected the taste. So you might check your watering, don't let the plants get too dry between waterings and keep watering regularly. Otherwise I'm afraid I'm out of ideas. Good luck with the peppers, and enjoy them. |
