Default Chilli problems help needed! (pics)

hi all im looking for some advice and a little guidance with regards to my chilli plants.

My problem is with the chilli stalks which grow out from the nodes of the plant, the area that thay are growing from is going black and i have no idea if this is normal or if something is wrong, im very new to gardening.

The area is black and there is no problem to start with, the plant flowers fine. But once the flower is open it dies then the whole stalk just falls from the plant.

At first it looked as though i was going to get dozens of chillis from the plants but now they just falling off and to be honest im gutted.

any help would be great and massivly appreciated

pic 4 is just an overall shot of all my chilli plants there is also a young pepper plant at the front.

the black patches are normal.

the lack of fruit is a bit strange, I would have expected a least 1 or 2 flowers to have self pollinated by now even if they are in a greenhouse.

try tapping the flowers when they are open, or you can get in there with a fine paint brush, if you google 'hand pollinating chillies' there's loads of useful info.

Thankyou so much, that's a bit of weight of the mind.

So if the flowers arnt pollonated then they will just drop off, is that what you are saying?

Thankyou, very helpful.

I've started the manual pollination process already so hopefully this will show some results, if nt I will look into the other areas as outlined in the article.

I am growing in a green house so hopefully I will soon be getting some chillier forming.

Thankyou again.

Sorry for hi-jacking this thread - but a clsodely related question. My plant is quite large now (and also has a lack of fruit - but a reasonable number of flowers) - should I stop it, a bit like you do with tomatoes.

Best regards
