Default Pumpkin - split vine?

Hi all. In the pic you can see where the vertical vine which leads to the pumpkin has split and dried, though not entirely. I am not refering to the broken leaf stem. Why has the vine split and will y pumpkin grow bigger? These are my current wonderings...

Thanks for your thoughts!

Longitudinal splitting of the stems is usually due to twisting of the stem, perhaps due to the wind. If the damage is not too severe, the fruits can continue to grow. You will just need to wait and see.
