Default small quantities of seed potatos and onion sets?

Hi all, my first post on here. I have really limited space but would like to grow a few potatos and onions. However, every where I look always sells 1.5kg or 2kg bags of seed potatos or 20 tubers etc,. and today in the garden centre I looked at onion sets and they were bags of 100. I only have space for about 10 potato plants (but would like a few different varieties in that) and maybe 10 onions. Is there anywhere that sells much smaller quantities of things? I am just growing in my back garden in a couple of raised beds.
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy, welcome to our forum!!

The best places I can think of for small quantities of seed potatoes are the Potato Day events which are held across the country. Most of these Potato Days sell individual seed potatoes and many sell heritage varieties. Some also have onion sets available.

I have searched the 'net for ages to try and compile a great list of these events for our calendar.

I have posted the January Potato Days here - http://www.vegetable-gardens.co.uk/f...ry-2012-a.html

I haven't posted February and March on the forum yet but these links will take you to our calendar where all the gardening events are listed.
February - http://www.vegetable-gardens.co.uk/f...o=displaymonth

March - http://www.vegetable-gardens.co.uk/f...o=displaymonth

I hope this helps!

Thanks to both! There is a potato day near me (Wantage) in January so I might try and get to that. But will also try Poundland.
