We have got bottles of gin that we won in a raffle but we don't like the stuff! So is there anything we can do with it to change the taste and make it drinkable?

I`m not sure but it may be too late to get yourself out in the hedgerow and pick some sloes! YUMMY.
Basically prick the sloes and put into 1/2 bottle of gin until full and leave for a couple of months, strain and Cheers! I`m sure though if you google gin there will be more recipes. Let us know the best ones! Sandra |

Well, the best thing you could do, The Lovely Lesley, is to P.M. me, find out my address and send it to me.
![]() The second thing you could do is try an old-fashioned "Gin & It". The modern way is 1/3rd Gin to 2/3ds Vermouth. The old-fashioned way is to find a really rough red wine, (the cheaper the better) and mix in the same proportions. It makes a cheap Gin and a cheap Wine taste sooo much better. I'd prefer the first version but it's up to you ![]() |

Make redcurrant gin next summer - much nicer than sloe gin. Anyone who tries it loves it at once you need 1lb of redcurrants, half a pound of sugar and 1 pint of gin (it's an old Good Housekeeping recipe, pre-metric). You take the fruit off the stalks, put it into a bottle or jar, add the sugar and then the gin. Seal it up and shake to dissolve the sugar. It will probably take a few days before all the sugar dissolves completely. Then you leave it until Christmas - that's the only difficult part. |
