Default White strawberries?

Hi everybody
I just heard that there are white strawberries calles 'pineberry' and they seem to taste like pineapples.

Does anybody know about them? Or even better, does anybody know if it is possible to grow them by seeds? Does anybody have some seeds left over for a new gardener in Switzerland? I am very curious about this... ;-)

Sorry if you find any mistakes in my writing - English is not my native language... *lol*

Best regards, geensug

Hy stupo74
Thanks a lot for the link. Unfortunately I live in Switzerland - I am pretty sure they will not send a few seeds to my address. And I relly tried to find a seller of any sorts of white strawberries in my country - no luck with it.

best regards, geensug

Oooh I just googled "Pineberry seeds" and it turns out there is a type of cannabis, a very strong variety apparently, called "Purple Pineberry" - wouldn't want to get the two muddled up! tee hee!

The plant is disease resistant, but is not very profitable. Due to small-scale farming, small berry size and low yield crop, the Pine berry has been marketed to restaurants, bakeries and wholesale markets.

White strawberries are also known as coastal strawberries. They are grown in glasshouses, turning from green to white and are ripe when the seeds turn dark red.

There are various benefits of hydroponic growing strawberries. They have excellent taste. They grow at a great altitude and have high yields per plant.

I know this is an older post but I was wondering if anyone here got the chance to sample these white strawberries? They sound rather interesting.
