Okay, just how do you make dumplings?
I made a pan of stew at weekend and put dumplings in just like my Mum always did and they turned out like rocks!!!! I used vegetarian suet instead of beef suet (we aren't veggies) so could the suet be the problem? I need help please. |

Oh thanks Runnerbean. I will use your recipe and hope they don't turn out like lead weights again. One question do you put the lid on the pan and second question do you turn them over half way through cooking?

Yes, put the lid on so that they steam. I add a handful of in-season soft chopped herbs to make herby dumplings.
