Does anyone have any recipies using parsley? I have a large amount of the stuff in my herb garden at the moment as I grew my own from seed and then was given some too and I'd like to use it up before it either dies or overtakes the rest of my herbs.

Hi Kabij,
Recipes for parsley- how about a parsley sauce, great served with a nice piece of baked fish and mashed pototo, or the sauce even goes well with gammon. Parsley Sauce: 1oz (25g) butter, 1oz (25g) plain flour, 1/2pt (300ml) milk. seasoning-salt&pepper Melt the butter in a saucepan over a gentle heat. Gradually stir in the flour, mixing to a smooth paste, add seasoning. Next add the milk, pour a little in at a time stirring all the time, over a gentle heat ,mixing to a smooth sauce. add the chopped parsley, simmer for about 10mins. will be enough sauce to serve four. Another recipe idea would be parsley pesto. I will put the recipe in if interested. |

I chop it finely, mix into butter and use that on boiled new potatoes.. delicious. I also put parsley in soups and stuffings. It's a great breath freshener. Parsley sauce recipe ladybird gives is very useful. I'll also put parsley into dumplings. YUM.
Then there's this:- Nick Truman's Ferrari and Wine Making Website It's also good in with white wine when making moules mariniere .. Try this one:- BBC - Food - Recipes - Moules mariniere with cream, garlic and parsley And lots more here |

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I actually make parsley sauce quite often but it's the only thing I know to do with parsley
That pesto recipie would be lovely and give me a little more variety.Parsley butter and dumplings sound great too, and so simple I can't believe I didn't think of them. I'll check out that link when I have a little more time. |
