Default Chutney

Hello just popped in to say I made today 6lb of apple and green tomato chutney and found some nice jars to put it in. Mrs Marmite say's it tastes nice, me I cant stand the stuff. Looks like our friends will be getting a jar for Christmas. The only thing that I want to know, apart from the winning lottery numbers is how long does chutney last. The jars are air tight clip ones with rubber ring. Regards Marmite.

I've just opened a jar of green tomato chutney from 2007 and it's fine.
If stored in a cool dark place chutney should be good for 2 - 3 years, as with all preserves if it looks or smells funny when you open it, it's probably got something wrong with it.
