Default kohl rabi

My first time growing this.

Has anyone cooked kohl rabi, other than say a gratin dish, and are you able to eat the leaves as they look like cabbage ?

I pulled one this afternoon, tennis ball size, and have made a kohlslaw with it, (red onion, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil and S&P) . Doesn't look too appetizing thou' .

Hi FromTCN, the slaw sounds lovely - what did it taste like?? You can eat the leaves and there are a few other recipes on this link:-

It didn't look appetizing and tasted like it.

The sesame oil and soy drowned the delicate flavour of the kohl rabi.

Needless to say I won't be making it again.

Soup or the gratin next time; should be better as a hot dish.

Thanks for the info on the leaves.
