Default Do you like your frogs in your garden?

I love the frogs and toads in my garden. Do you enjoy the jumping little friends? When I first moved into my house 4 years ago there were frogs and now I have several all around. Where did they come from?

I'd love to have a frog or two in my garden - but don't have any. They are so useful for keeping the insect population down.

I love the frogs in my garden; however they can get a bit annoying in the summer when the tiny froglets are hopping about in the grass, and I have the job of catching them and putting them in my own part of the garden before my mum gets the mower out...

The larger frogs certainly keep the slugs down, anyway :-) Oh, and also enjoy giving me a heart attack by jumping out of the compost heap when I'm putting some waste on :-D

Toads are the business, far better at slug eating than frogs.

Default We have frogs and toads by the bucketful

We have a very large community of frogs and toads on our allotments site which is quite near to man-made lagoons.

We also have had frogs cavorting in our garden pond at home. When we clear areas or use the rotavator we are constantly having to transport frogs and toads to safety. Toads are easy as they don't jump and are slower but it can be a bit of a challenge to catch the frogs - they don't seem to appreciate that if they stay put they may be shredded!!! The compost heap is a favourite winter hibernation spot!

On our allotment site we collect cans for recycling as part of our fund raising. (We need a new fence!) When we moved the can store we found lots of frogs underneath. Many of the cans were beer cans and the frogs obviously enjoyed the conditions. Many couldn't jump straight!!

All in all we love having them!
