Default wild deer

can wild deer be fed during the winter and if so what with. we have a family visiting our back garden which are beautiful to see. they are at the moment eating the windfall of my apple trees.

Lucky old you! make sure you get some good pics! I'm sure a good mix of nuts would be welcome plenty of oil for energy!

They are beautiful animals. Around here we have white tale deer and the folks that feed them use ears of corn. Maybe you know a farmer growing corn who would let you buy some ears before harvest, might take quite a few ears. If you do this store the ears in a mouse proof container, like a plastic storage bin with a snap tight lid. Mice like corn too. Hope you can keep the deer around.

thanx everyone the deer have been around for a good few years so dont think they will disappear. will try some nuts and corn amy get some from the allotments i am on.
